Thumbs up My dragstrip results from 10-14

Just got back trom the track. Truck went a new best of 10.91@122 with a 1.59 60ft. Traction was hard to find today as it was cold but the good air made up for it. Now I just have to wait 6 months before I get to go again unless I want to drive 6 hours to a different track. Oh well it was a good year as nothing major broke so I am more than happy.

Re: My dragstrip results from 10-14

Congrats on not breaking anything. When I lived in Michigan I hated having so many seasons. I couldn't afford a toy for each season. Here in Tennessee I can drag race 10 months out of the year. One track about an hour from me is open year round. If you already have pictures posted please let me know where they're at. If not put some up if you have time. I would like to see it. Thanks Ron.

Re: My dragstrip results from 10-14

are those ram air snorkels next to each light?

the track about 30 miles from here is open just about year round to all classes plus midnight madness, street drags, and test and tunes. One of these days 4 of my friends and I are going down there and making a night of it.

Re: My dragstrip results from 10-14

BADGMC, where is this track located. I see the NHRA banner in the background. I think the closest 1/4 mile track to me is Memphis. I think my 468 BB would run out of wind with the 5.14 gears before I made it to the finish line. Everything close is 1/8 so I geared for them. Good looking truck, give us a little more information on it. Good luck for next year.

Look's like that was at Brainerd. BADGMC do you run the show and go or the muscle car shootout up there?

Re: My dragstrip results from 10-14

The pic was from Muscle Car at Brainerd in September. As for info on the truck my sig pretty much sums it up there is not anything really special on it except the CSU carb and hat. The turbos are just old tractor turbos making 8lbs. of boost. I built the headers and everything else for it. Turned out to be a good investment as it drives better and cost less than a big blower kit with carbs ever would. Maybe if I get time I will do a buildup thread with pics that I have but for now here is a pic of the engine before I moved the air intakes to behind the grille.

If you do get a chance, please do. I would greatly appreciate that. You make it sound so simple, I did research for a 3 days and I was just overwhelmed by information. All I understood was that a blow-through carb (still don't know the difference to a normal one) is needed and something about the positioning of turbos being crucial due to oil needing to get somewere. LOL.

My frustration got to the point where I just decided to use the money and buy a car instead.

Not your average GMC. A lot of work and ingenuity and looky here. You have a winner there.
