Tilt column issues...

Well, I got the pin remover tool from the tool store, but wouldn't you know it, it too broke off in the column. And its hardened! Nice. Still unable to get this one pin out. Anyone got any ideas on pulling the pin? Short of the plasma cutter that is....Thanks, Jeff.

Re: Tilt column issues...

I use a slide hammer with a machine screw to pull the really tough pins. I also soak the pins down with penetrant.

I have not run across one that could not be pulled, yet!

Re: Tilt column issues...

I tried the slide hammer thing right off, but not the penetrating fluid. I'll give it a try again as soon as I can get the hardened screw extracted! Thanks, Jeff.

Did you release the spring pressure on the tilt mechanism first
