I bet he meant to say 5" rear and 3" front. It looks as that is what his stance is from the pic. Plus I don't think a 5" front drop spring being produced???

Yeah I was backwards.... I have not aligned it since I put them in. I have only put 4 miles on it since then. I set the toe with a tape measure, and am going to align it this winter. I am still deciding if I am going to keep it this way. I love the look, but miss the ride quality.

Its too bad your ride quality has suffered since you lowered your truck. Your truck is juicy , in fact I have it as wallpaper on my puter except its the side shot when you still had the smaller tires on the front and I'd love to see a shot with the 255/50 17's front and back.
I did some calculations and your sidewalls with the 255/50 17's are 5.52 inches high as compared to the 6.93 sidewall on a 235/75 tire that were stock on a lot of these trucks. I think your ride quality has suffered for a couple of reasons. The first being your tire size. If you had used 255/60's your side walls would be 6.02 inches so you have an extra inch of tire absorbing bumps etc. Secondly if you had used a dropped spindle in combination with the lowered spring the springs would be taller and absorb things better. Lastly did you change your shocks too? Oh yea one last thing , if dont have a front sway bar I'd recommend you get one. I put a 1 1/4 inch bar on my truck last year with new polyurethane bushings and could tell the difference in ride and handling in the first 100 yards of driving.

I plan on doing almost the same drop as you except I'm going with a 2 1/2 drop spindle and 1 inch dropped coil and like you the 5 inch spring drop in the back with new gas shocks all around and shock relocators out back with ECE's Super track bar. I'll let everyone know how mine rides when its done next spring.

Re: Please show pics of lowered lwb trucks

Ride quality was one of the factors in me deciding to go bags. My truck isn't as low as some, but does get low.

The other big factor was my mood changes all the time. I can raise it up and roll, or dump it and cruise. Since I couldn't decide how low was low enough, bags were the only choice.

2x4 drop - coils on both - with a sway bar and panrhard relocate, shock relocoate, all from Early Classic.

The wheels were special ordered from Les Scwab www.lesschwab.com. - the fronts are 17's, backs are 18's. If you still interested I'll get the offsets, rim sizes and tire sizes for you.

I'm planning on spindles on the front with 1" coils. Will drop it another 1.5 inches in front, and bag the back - that way I can set where I want. I think it would look better just a little bit lower.

Total costs for the wheels and tires was about 2K about 600-800 for the stuff from EC

Re: Please show pics of lowered lwb trucks

Already gone, The tires on the truck in the pic are 255/50zr17 in the front and 255/60vr17 in the rear. I put the bigger rear tires on before I lowered it. I will probably put the 60's on the front also. Right now, the panhard bar mount on the rear axle is touching the tailpipe and the front is hitting the bump stops. I am going to cut the bumpstops and make/buy an adjustable panhard bar to move the rear over about 3/4 of an inch and see what that does. It does handle much better and rides fine till you hit a big bump.

The early classic panhard bar relocate works very well - I'm very glad I have it on my truck. I've got quite a bit of HP with a ZZ383 and some other mods, it's making over 460 HP.

I can't, I sold it two years ago, when I get a chance I'll scan some pics of it. It was pretty trick, air suspension, detailed 468BB, custom interior, I'm starting to get sad...

A 15" wheel will not tuck up under the rear (inside the fender bead) bed side. You would even be pushing it with a 10" wheel. Look at my pic in this thread of my blue '71 Chevy. That is an 8" ralley with a 3 1/2" backset and I have about 1 1/2"s between the tire and the stock wheel tub.
