Swap Meet Score!

Sometime I get lucky. Went to the Hutchinson, Ks. swap meet this morning with my 16 year old son. Not looking for anything in paticular, just spending quality time as they say. My son bought several Hot Wheels to add to his collection. While he was doing his thing I wandered over to another booth having a bunch of odds and ends, looked like some 67-72 truck stuff in it. Looked over the tables, nothing I couldn't live without. BUT, there on the floor under the table with a handwritten tag saying "67-72 Chevy Pickup" was a nice pair of 69-72 TOW HOOKS with a $20 price tag!! Needless to say I almost dislocated my shoulder reaching for my billfold. Guy said he had had them for several years and just never bothered to put them on his truck which he no longer had. They have the number #3941733-4 with a U inside a small six-sided circle along side the number. Number is on the same side of each hook but the curve faces different direction. Non-painted, bare metal metal with the bolts, washers, and nuts. From what I have read of these on the board, never thought I would be lucky enough to find an original set and certainly not at that price. Sorry but not for sale !! LOL

You lucky devil! congats on the find. One time while at the Daytona turkey run my buddy bought a BB fan shroud for $2. I even offered to double his money but he wouldn't sell either. Oh well.

Thumbs up

Nice score Gary! How's everything goin'? I was through Wellington about 6:30 this evening and saw 5 of our model trucks (3 of them looked pretty nice), and a very sweet lookin' '67 Chevelle SS, white with black stripes. Saw several nice customs on I-35 this morning, must have been a show down south somehwere. Cya man!

Hi Larry, Yeah, like I said sometimes I do get lucky. There are several 67-72 trucks here in town and each time I get a chance to I let the drivers know of this board. Also bought a 40/20/40 seat at the swap meet like I have been wanting for the truck. Won't get it picked up until Sun. afternoon. Can't wait to get it put in. One more item on the list taken care of. Good to hear from you. Have you heard how Yukon Jack is coming on the BBC swap in the flatbed? Have yourself a good day and Keep On Truckin' Gary

Dont you just love it when you score like that. I was at a yard sale one time and bought a Mac vacume/fuel pressure guage for $1. Works great and it has the clamp on it for hanging it. Good find on the tow hooks. It looks like i'll have to machine my own hooks..Stainless steel..
