Bed Mounting
Is there a recommended way to level the truck bed? Obviously you unbolt it and start shimming but I thought someone might have some thoughts on how do this best. Seems to me that I should start at the cab end and shim each connection to correct heighth and then move back?
Thanks, Whit |

Re: Bed Mounting
Unless the frame or box is really off, the box should be a bolt on the the frame and go. Usually the rear of the cab will need to be shimmed and moved to get it straight and level with the box, and usually one cab corner will need an extra shim or two to get it straight with the box. Do you have any pictures ?

Re: Bed Mounting
Where are ya'll putting the shim for the cab? Between cab and rubber or between rubber and frame? I guess cab/rubber, but I'm away from my baby right now so I can't look.

Re: Bed Mounting
Did you put in new cab mounts, or use the old ones? You can buy rubber cushions for between the bed mounts.

Re: Bed Mounting
The rubber shims are a good idea for between the frame and bed. You can buy a tar fabric material of varying thickness and width in whatever length you want from old car restoration places. I think it's called "anti-squeak". Cut it in 2x2 or 3X3 in. squares and cut a hole for the bolt. This may sound like a backwoods idea but If you have access to old fire hoses, they would make awesome (and durable) cushions for the same purpose.
