dash pad help
hi guys.I'm new to this and also to 67-72 trucks.we're working on a 67 and the dash pad needs replaced.after we tore the padding off...................I see why they make a cover
 anyway,how do you go about installing a new one?thanks.

Pretty easy, the new part will have about 4 screws across the underside, can't remember if they have studs behind and under as well, but when you take the old one off you'll get the idear. Any problems post it up!

The dash pad has small studs that go into the dash across the top. They are made into the bottom of the pad. Once these are installed you have I think 4 screws that go inside the bottom front of the pad.

I'm installing a real nice made in china part right now, I can't get the bottom screw holes to line up. As soon as I come up with a mod I'll post back. buy OEM, buy OEM, buy OEM

Justafiremun made in china? I havent seen them made in china yet. What brand was yours? I d like to know so I can avoid them. I cant remeber who the supplier of the last one i used was but I didnt have a problem. It came from lmc.

The front holes do not line up properly and you cannot push the pad down and put the screw in or it tears out the weak fiberglass structure. The cracked OEM pad had a metal structure and constructed much better. Try to find OEM, but make sure it really is OEM.

I did one without taking the cluster all the way out.I did remove the screws and tilt the guages forward,removed the glovebox and used my handi-dandi multi set conglomeration of 1/4 drive wiggle joints,extensions and wiggle sockets.It is tight to reach far enough up in there to get to the nuts on the studs.I beleive mine was by "Just Dashes" and it fit just like it should have.Watch the pad as you tighten it so it doesn't pull down more in one area than another and get the old "WAVE" in it.
