Brake Calipers. Can they be interchangable?

I don't know alot about brakes but was curious if calipers are interchangable? I would imagine that you would need to make sure the rotors are the same thickness and possibly same diameter. I know the bracket would have to be made to hold the caliper. For example. Could you use a corvette 4 piston caliper on our rotors? Thanks Josh

Re: Brake Calipers. Can they be interchangable?

I just found out that calipers are interchangable as longs as you use the correct rotors specs that match the calipers. For example if your calipers are made for a 12" rotor and 1 1/4 thick rotor you must use that matching rotor specs. You have to fab up your own mounting bracket. I thought that i would share that info incase someone else was curious.
