Another black exterior red interior question..
I didnt want to steal someone elses thread. Thought it was funny it came up though. My panel is being painted black and my interior is/was? going to be red. Not bright red but a darker red. Ive had three people now tell me it wont look good. Ive always loved black hot rods with red interiors. Am I the only one that thinks this will look good? I really dont want to go black ext with black interior...even though that would be cheaper....thoughts?

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
Do what you think looks best. I get tons of compliments on my 77 Cheyenne interior color. It's GM Oxblood red. Not a bright red, but close to it...

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
That looks great. You know sometimes you look at someones ride (what ever it is) and think to yourself...geeze what was that guy thinking? But you can see he is loving it...I was starting to think I was going to be one of those
guys...oblivious to something everyone else thinks is hidious. I think I will PS some interior pics to red to get a better idea. |

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
black with red allmost allways looks good. just avoid white piping and it will look great. flat red verses shiney would probably be better.

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
Black with red interior always looks good and true hot rod style. Or vice versa, odd colors may be the '' in '' thing. But a black, red, orange or white ride is priceless!!!

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
I think a shiney black exterior with the stock red interior that our trucks came with would look outstanding. Is your panel a 68? I really like the 68 red (or other color) custom/cst door panels, red visors, and red buddy bucket seats. Maybe accented with black dash pad, blakc seat belts, tilt steering column and black 68 steering wheel with cst horncap. Now I sound like an interior decorator!!

Re: Another black exterior red interior question..
Hey Bob...or should I call you Martha Stewart... . Its a 69 with a 68 nose. I wasnt planning on going stock style. More of a 60's pleated look, semi customish. All interior metal will be black. We found some more rust thats gonna need to be replaced. So that pushes back finishing date and Im sure I will change my mind a dozen more times on everything....
