Well I had some time today with the rain to get out into the shop but I was told Holiday weekends are family time so get to work on our truck Gotta luv her!
Anyways I finished up the rockers and cab corners, welded up all the old holes in the floor as well as finishing up welding the body drop cuts. Then I built my trany tunnel for clearance of my drivshaft at full drop as well as my crossmember clearance issue. Here are a few pics. Now I can try out some different seam sealers and paint/undercoat the bottom of the cab and move on to the fire wall on the next holiday weekend Kevin LFD Inc. |

Now we are talking, plug welds. Very few people use them for some reason. Looks really clean. I am going to bug you again, still waiting on the tip and flip for the Blazers............

What a pain in the A$$, why can't people make all seat mounts sit flat? These stupid things are all different heights and they are not flat eather. But they are all mounted and have square nuts welded to the bottom and should still leave things easy to carpet. I do not remember what the seats came out of but they fit great. My truck has a 2" body drop so the stock bench was now too heigh with me at 6'. These are low and fully adjustable and leave enough room behind them for a nice molded fiberglass speaker box

Well I did some mock up on the vintage air dash unit today. With a molded off fire wall I had to build some mounts so it could be bolted in with out drilling thru the fire wall. Then I sectioned out the dash to get rid of the hacked up sterio hole that went up into the A/C hole as well. Before I cut out the section of the new dash I cut the center A/C hole since it is easier doing this on the bench. Now that the A/C unit mounts are done and work great I can build the same ones for Project Lemon Drop and get his A/C mocked up before paint.

Ok, so now I see how you did it...Should have known you would make full on brackets! Are you using the one of the Sure Fit kits or massaging a Gen II unit into place? Also, where abouts would the remainder of the mounting brackets be? |

For my truck I am using a sure fit for 67-72 chevy's with the four lines going right thru the fire wall I bought this kit 7yrs ago and I am just now getting around to installing it. For Porject Lenom Drop it is a universal kit that will have all lines hidden.

Man That Looks Good.
On The Stuff That You Are Fabricating, Like Putting The Center Dash Piece In And Making The Brackets For The A/c Kit. When You Clean Up The Metal And Then Weld Something In Do You Primer It Or Use Sealer, Or Wait Till You Get A Bunch Ready To Primer? I Would Be Very Interested In Seeing Those A/c Brackets! I Think I'm Gonna Shave The Firewall And Use The Vintage Air Kit Too. I'll Need All The Help I Can Get! |

I try and get alot done at once so I can prime/seal at one time. I also have a fire place in my shop so that helps keep the moisture done alot and things just do not surface rust very fast.

My cab is now done after 7yrs of being in different torn apart stages! I spent a few hours today and finished welding and plating up the body drop then I seam sealed every little thing (except drain holes) under the cab to help protect from rust. Next I will rubber under coat the hole bottom side. I also did a very quick shave of the fire wall. This truck is just going to be a DD parts runner so I did not want to get very fancy with anything. Plus I did all this work 7-8yrs ago when my skill's were not as good so I look at alot of things and just do not like how it was done. Not to say it is not right but just not up to how I build today. Well I did a quick filler job (not much needed) and 3 coats of fill primmer. Then I loosly bolted the front clip in place so I can square it all up and check for gap issues. Then I might work on the front tilt hood while the engine bay is empty.

Well with the help of my One man cab & bed lift I was able to put the cab back on it's frame. I have the engine running now and a temperary exhaust hooked up. The final exhaust will be all 3" with stage 3 flow masters, aluminized tubing and tig welded. I also have the fuel system all hooked up and the new lines ran from the rear mounted 35gal SS tank. Every thing fits just right and will be all mocked up in the next few weeks so final body work can start Yes this is aired out, I should have gone lower

They are mid lenght headers custom made for me by Sandersons headers out of South San Fran. They are designed for our frames with the engine slid back 2" and are "D" port for the vett LT1. Great quality, thick flanges and look great as well. Also they are great guys to deal with. I picked up three sets of headers to mock up for my set and I had to mark on them parts that worked off each set and they made one "one off" set for me at no extra charge!
