Wheels 18's or 20's?

I am trying to decide on wheels. I have read the FAQ but was curious what the current trend is? My project truck is a 1972 C10 SWB with a 4/6 drop.

I was thinking of a 8" front wheel and a 9 1/2" rear wheel. 4" backspacing? Any new pics with 18's or 20's would be appreciated.

Thanks

ps my name should be in blue soon!

I am running 20x8.5 front with 5in BS and 20x10 rear with 5.5in BS. Here are pics. I have a 4-4.5 in front drop (just dropped a BB in so it may be lower) and 5in drop in rear.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions on set up.

Jesse

my 67 has 17's and my red 68 has 20's all the way around. This is a photo shop slam of my trucks they are higher than this for sure.

novajess1972- Do you have any problems with it rubbing with the backspacing being 5" front and 5 1/2" rear? What size tires?

Thank to everyone for the pics and info.

Here are some pics of my truck. It has 18 x 8 all around with 4" backspace.
I need to get lower profile tires up front though.

I actually thought it might rub, and by just looking at the pics, it looks that way, but I have absolutely no rubbing issues. I can turn the wheels from lock to lock, even during drving and it doesn't rub at all.

Tire sizes are 255/45-20 front and 295/45-20 rear.

These are 20x8.5 with 4.5" backspacing. I need to try the 5" backspacing to get the front end lower when I let the air out of the bags.

Huevedo, nice truck man. I am headed in almost exactly that same direction with mine, but I shaved the marker lights. I will be shooting it GM Torch Red, do you know what color your red truck is? I chose torch red because it was the brightest red I could find.

Re: Wheels 18's or 20's?

20x8.5 w/5.25 back spacing, 2" spacers in the rear, wrapped w/285/50/20 Goodyears. I don't have exact drop numbers, the front is 3/4T coils w/1 1/2 coil cut, the rear is bagged. Yes the front rubs once in a great while, I'm planning on bagging the front eventually.

Re: Wheels 18's or 20's?

You guys have some hot trucks. Best porn I've seen in a while. Here's mine, it's lowered 6 inches in the rear now, just can't work on it since it's snowing, lol, damn I need a shop. Can I add 22's to the list. BTW, I just started on it about 2 weeks ago.

No, not really, actually rides good. Couldn't really tell any difference between these and the rallies I had on it.
