Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
Parting out a 71, have the frame left.(minus eng and trans cross member) I need to haul it off to the scrapyard here in a bit, was wondering if there was any interest in portions of the frame?

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
I need a motor mount/crossmember but since you are not selling it I will keep looking.I might need a piece no bigger than 4"X4" out of the very back crossmember from about the middle all the way up the 90 degree angle.I might still have a piece off a frame I scrapped but I might have already hauled it away.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
you will have to show me a picture of what you want, is it in one of MSGross' pics in the thread he linked? Right click, save as, load up in MSPaint, draw a circle on what part you need.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
No,I dont have any pics on my computer right now but I can get a pic of what I need tomorrow.I might also need a set of brackets that are riveted to the frame which IIRC are for brake lines. You will probably just have to wait till I get some pics

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
I only need the driver side lower piece, let me check to be sure I don't need the pass side. You should be able to grind an "X" into the rivets and knick them off with an air chisel. If it's easier I can take the entire piece, up to you. Thanks...

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
BobS: yes, front or rear?
MSGross: it depends on how easy things come off. If it pisses me off bad enough, you might get part of the crossmember, and frame. Last edited by masterbeavis; 12-06-2006 at 10:21 PM. |

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
haha..
what about the frame piece that supports the power steering pump? I have seen threads where they welded that over my 68 frame to attach a newer PS box.... This is a borrowed pic of what I am talking about. He said he welded the outer piece onto the 67-68 frame. Mine doesn't have the dimple for the PS box. |

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
I couldnt find anyone piecing out a frame earlier this year...now there coming out of the woodwork with the season changing. I dragged a stripped down chassis here, but I was missing the same engine and tranny cross members too.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
I take it that you plan on keeping the steering box, when you remove it I would like the area that it bolts to. Quick cut of the torch a few inches behind the back and in front of the front holes will do. let me know...thanks.

Eldorado is about 1 hour north of sacramento, off the 50 freeway, I believe.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
if they're available id be interested (pending on price shipped to 42141) in the rear/front spring mounts.
to be specific, the four little metal straps, and the peice that mounts inside the frame for the bolt to go through. i cant remember if its bolted or rivited.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
Manimal, if you want the entire frame, you can PM me, we can work out a price. Nothing is missing yet aside from the bracket for the clutch linkage. The frame will clean up and look like new, with no need for fixing rust holes.

Re: Any interest in K20 misc frame pieces?
Yes, waiting on somebody to buy the entire frame. Probably isn't going to happen, have had a few people say "Dont cut it up, I want it" but they dont put their money where their mouth is.
