70 gmc 5 lug??
Looking at a 70 gmc parts truck. Has disc on front and 5 lug front and rear. I guess disc was an option? What about 5 lug? I forgot to look to see if it had leaf or coil springs. I was thinking about using it to change my70 cst chevy over to five lug disc. What do you think?

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
I was under the impression 5-lug axels were not until 71. disc brakes were optioned on pickups from the factory in 71. probably not the original front and rear ends.

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
The thing is the truck looks original. If it was changed it was a long time ago. I wonder if maybe its a 71 or two and had a 70 title. It had a tag on the front said 70 gmc.

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
Disc brakes didnt come around till 1971 on these trucks so it isnt really a 1970 or someone has already made the swap.

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
not available on trucks til 71. the truck also looks to have a 69 or 70 front clip on it. It was probably pieced together by someone.

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
well i'd say its a 71 model or someone has swapped it over either way you can still use it for parts and it doesn't really matter

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
6 lug drums until and during 70, never seen 5 lug drums, unless it was a car.

Re: 70 gmc 5 lug??
Some of the big, early 70's cars had 5x5 and disc. Cadillacs, Impallas, etc.
