Fuel filter....

I am currently running one of the glass filters nobody likes for obvious reasons. I had been planning on replacing it but haven't gotten around to it until now. I have been getting crap get passed the filter and into the carb messing with my needle and seats. I also believe that whatever got through my filter is jammed up in the lines before the gas even gets to the bowls.

Anyway, this is what I just bought from my local performance shop.
Anybody used one?

Re: Fuel filter....

Your tank might be the real culprit? Is it new? The old tank in my 67 was so bad I ran through filters about every 3 months and had to clean the carb just as frequently. Just a thought.

Cool looking filter, kinda looks like the "screw in" type on my '00 silverado.

Tank is original and for the most part the filter looks ok. Just small granuals that you would expect from pump gas. However, the other day when I pulled it apart there was a clear rubbery looking blob sort of thing in it about the size of a match head.

This is an "AN" style filter. Most of my fuel plumbing is also AN.

Re: Fuel filter....

We have used those in race cars and have good luck with them and if I remember right they're rebuildable.
