Rebuild 700r4 from 1996 4wd s10 blazer to use in my 72 K5?

Technical question for you guys.

I have a line on a 700r4 out of a 96 S10 blazer, that I'd like to rebuild for use in my 1972 K5 Blazer. Obviously, the truck I want to put it in is bigger & heavier.

My question is, do you think that I could rebuild or have rebuilt this transmission to handle being used in my K5 Blazer?

I know that I'll have to get an adaptor for the transfer case among other things, but I'm just curious as to whether or not this is even a good idea.

Well, for one it isn't a 700. It's a 4l60, which is fully electronically controlled. You would need the computer that was in the truck to make it work, or go full manual valve body. From what I've read and heard, they might bolt the same and look the same, but I guess the innards are different. The V-8s are "beefed" more thant the S-10s, but other than that, that is about all I know.
