i got a 84 3/4 with a factory 454 in it...the truck is from texas orignaly..now im liveing up in utah and 99% of the 3/4 to 1 ton all have 350's in them..personaly if im buying a 3/4 or 1 ton its to use it,,not to just ride around in..
so how many factory big block trucks are in the group...

also is there a late 80's or early 90's 5 speed that would swap into my gmc with out alot of mods..i hate to get rid of the granny tranny,,but and over drive would be nice...
heres a pic of my baby

i would sell my 68 before i sell my gas guzzleing 84..

Re: so how many 3/4 out here with factory big blocks

Me! I have a 78 camper special that I bought from my son, this was the same truck I looked at back in 85 but bought a k5 blazer instead, turns out that one of my friends bought this truck instead and then my son bought it from him last year. Nice part of this the 454 was rebuilt 10 years ago but only had 6000 miles on the motor, he never drove it except to pickup his mail and short errands. When he picked it up we had to replace the tires, sat so long the tires seperated, and replaced all the belts. This thing runs great and due to the 3.73 rearend it flies down the highway.

That is a cool truck Ironclad! There was a 73 C10 454, Yellow/White, Super for sale in town a few years ago. When I went to buy it, it was already gone. That's what I get for thinking it over first.

Re: so how many 3/4 out here with factory big blocks

My 74 came factory with a 454, but my 80 came factory with a 350, even though it was the heavy duty version, while the 74 was a light duty truck... The 74 had the big block swapped out before I got it, unfortunately.

My 86 has Factory 454 in it, Recently used it to Haul the 72 Wrecker i got off Jamie Home. Was quite pleased with the way truck handled load, Round trip was about 340 miles & only cost about $ 90.00 in Gas. Here are a couple of Pics oy the Truck................

Thanks, Rick
