Best place to get a new bumper that is near you, is the truck & car shop in Orange. About $100.00 for a new one.

Re: WTB: Front Bumper '69 GMC, (west coast)

I have a chevy piece on mine, the parking light cut out is missing, but in all reality, the early GMCs 67, and maybe 68, were like this. I used slightly smaller diameter bolts, and lowered the bumper just a 1/4 inch at the most, and the lights are 99% uncovered.
Just pointing out this option since chevy parts are scattered all over the junk yard while the GMCs are still on the road.

70GMCer; Thanks! I'll check them out.
Longhorn Man; Good idea there if I can't make a good deal on the GMC one. Also that was funny ( and true?) what you said.-cougar

Spend the $$$ and put the correct GMC bumper on it, so it is right...unless it is just a garbage hauler, then anything works.
Remember, if you put crap on your truck, it will look like...crap-LOL

You're right Longhorn Man, It is a working truck, but a proud and complete example.People just keep nailing it,and believe me,they always get the worst of it!
Actually though, with a bumper and a few other parts and some minor repair it could stand tall again. It was a perfect original specimen when I got it.
Thanks again for the ideas. - cougar

Bazookas. And in back I've got smoke emitters and nail dispensers. Hey,this is L.A.!!!
Seriously, the original owner had a camper and this is where he mounted his little trail bike (motorcycle, probably a Honda 50 or 90).-cougar

They did take a jump in price.....still, does make a difference......Now, take it to "1-Day-Body & Paint" in the Valley and get it looking really good....

Re: WTB: Front Bumper '69 GMC, (west coast)

Good idea, and one of my customers who owes me a favor is an exec.at One Day. However, while it is still doing heavy work duty, and until I can park it off the street,I'm going to leave it ugly. Besides, this way I sleep pretty good, not worrying about it driving away at night.-cougar (in Studio City)
