z28 power steering box fit our trucks???
Replied to a thread in the the 73-87 board and got me thinking.. I know of a 80 Z28 that still has its ps box in it and wondering if it would fit in our trucks.. and if so how do i tell if it is a quick ratio box for sure????

Mike - IIRC the Camaro box bolts to the inside of the frame while ours bolt to the outside. The ears are in the wrong place.

The z-28 box mounts to the other side of the frame. However, i have been told that the internals of the quick ratio boxes fit into the truck gearbox. Have not tried it myself though. More research would be needed to find out for sure.

Sounds like a reasearch project to mate the two. Anybody want to do a test.

Though I can't step up to do the test (been spending a LOT of money on the truck lately) I would love to know if this is possible or not.

There is a guy at atsco remanufacturing that is like a GM gearbox guru. He just might have the answer. Her is the 800 number
