Re: truck wont start.

Same Thing Happened To Me With My 1967. Mine Started Great With A Screw Driver Too. Messed With All Weekend Until I Finally Went To Napa And Pick Up A New Ignition Switch. Bingo! Could Be The Problem With Your's. I Think There Are A Couple Of Fusible Links Along The Same Wire You Could Look At Too. But Hey, If It's Not The Switch, A Least You Have A New One And Ruled That Out. Good Luck!

Re: truck wont start.

Might be the neutral start switch if you have an automatic trans. Try starting in park and neutral and jiggle the shift lever while holding the key in the start position.

Re: truck wont start.

Had the same thing happen to me once. Ended up being the neutral safety switch. Drove me crazy until I figured it out. I think you can disconnect the neutral safety switch and use a jumper wire to bypass it, and if it starts you found your problem. I drove mine like this for along time because I was too lazy to buy the switch. Hope this helps.

Re: truck wont start.

I had same issue. Did all the stuff you did are doing worked great . Then one day it started al over again. I put in a button for the second time . Now when the ole heap get iggnorant won't crank by the key. I turn on the key reach in to a secret place and push the button. Starts everytime. Not as likely to get ran over,as one starting from under the hood. Most of the time it does start from the key. Hope your new parts do the job..

Re: truck wont start.

It's on the top of the column where it passes through the firewall. The harness that plugs into is what I bypassed with a jumper wire.
