Anyone here have one of the aftermarket ac kits on your truck? If so, how was the install? Performance? I'm just trying to get some feedback since these kits are a considerable investment.

I'm gonna buy the Vintage kit,I here there reliable,easy to install,and stand behind there product. Besides they have aplacation for about anything you need it for.

I've had good luck with my Vintage Air system.... they make a Sure Fit kit for the 67-72 and it was easy to install... I had a non AC cab, so I had to cut holes at the factory vent locations... went with the flush mount side vents over the bulky factory ones....

I have talked to others who've done the Vintage air system, they liked it. I have one of their units in the Studebaker and it's great. The kit for our trucks is made specifically for them, and I'm told install easy.

I have the Vintage Air kit. Easy to install, works great. My only complaint about it is it moves the fan inside the cab whichs makes it loud when it is on high. That is not a big problem because even on a 90+ degree day you won't have it on high for long

Has anyone used the Old Air kit? It's on sale at GMC Pauls and I think I'm going to go with that one.

Just wondering, how easy are these kits to do on a factory air truck? My truck still has a decently working factory setup, but those newer setups look nice, and mine's leaking freon...

Dang...looks like no more glovebox no matter which one you go with. I am leaning toward the Oldair system, but I already have the compressor and condensing coils...just need the in cab kit.

Hey Frank.... I checked out your pics of your truck. I'm interested, what did you use for cab insulation? One of your pics has what appears to be some sort of insulation product on the firewall, what is that stuff?

Question for anyone, whats a nice insulation type product that isn't a complete rip-off??? I've seen how much dynamat stuff costs..... makes me shiver just thinking about it.
