can you still buy tool storage compartment doors?

Does anyone know if these are still available? Also, I am trying to search the classified section of this site with no luck. How do you log into the classified section? Do you have to pay to ask for a part?
Thanks,

the actual clasified section is dead, the parts for sale pages is where you want to look. You DO have to be a suscribing member ($25 for one year) to post a thread, however, you CAN respond to a thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=8

As for the tool box door, they were making fiberglass repros a few years ago, but they weren't selling enough to make it profitable, even at 275 bucks a piece if I remember right.
Nice ones come up from time to time, but they are far and few betwen, and the seller will pretty much get WHAT EVER he asks for it.

Re: can you still buy tool storage compartment doors?

they also pop up on ebay once in a great while. thats where i bought my NOS toolbox door a couple years back. you will pay dearly for NOS, mine cost me almost 500 bucks. i had a guy willing to make them out of fiberglass if i had gotten enough interest-i posted here a few months back and got no interest at all. he was going to use my NOS door for a pattern so they would be a nice fit, but needed at least 10 or 12 people commited to purchase one to make it worthwhile. best of luck.

But I had no idea they would set me back so far. Should I keep the plastic inner part when I sell the truck, as there is no way I can afford the door, but the box may be worth something?

Well, I'm usually a day late AND a dollar short, so at least this time I'm just a dollar short.

Would you remove and sell a factory tilt wheel, depriving the truck of that option, for the tool box door, or sell the truck with the column and without the door?

It comes to one or the other, unfortunately.

Re: can you still buy tool storage compartment doors?

I think I would. The buyer can find a tilt easier than a good stowage door.It helps a sle to have a solid body, especially the rare stowage door.

Well,I lost my box along with the bed(original wood),and frame in a misunderstanding when I dismantled my CustomCamper.I have a tool & stowage bedside I bought (Calif.) to restore that bed.I bought a nice door that is now on my Highlander.I also bought one of those fiberglass ones from Dennis`.So,I have a f/g door and rustfree bedside, but no box. So,there`s one case of everything but the box. But,if I sell the bedside & door to someone who`s restoring a truck, they`ll have the stowage box. There`s also alot of stowage boxes, either still mounted or removed when the side was filled in.
