Re: Winter Project II

Thank you,
I'm not absolutely sure what the correct name is because the painter had a bunch of lose chips and I just picked one out. It was shot on a dark primer which did alot for the final result. Having said all that, I think it's an '88 Ford color (sorry) called Garnet Red. I don't know the code, but I may be able to find it.

Re: SloMotion Build - Winter Project

Thank you for the kind comments! As a matter of fact, the truck has been on the road less than two weeks and as soon as our weather breaks I'm going to take a set of pics.

Thanx again

Re: SloMotion Build - Winter Project

So here is one old man's take on a relatively unusual truck.

At the risk of boring everyone, a few more pics of the "winter project" dually. It ran over time a little but there were days when other things were higher on the list.

I don't know which way I like it best...with the full fences, or the short ones, so I switch off when the mood strikes.

The engine is all but done. I switched out the 390 cfm Holley for the 500 cfm Edelbrock, and it really runs great. Not especially fast, but for what it is, it's fun to drive. The T5 made a huge difference in the drivability. The intake is heated, but the "U" turn under the carb in the manifold is a result of not useing the heat during the summer days here in Maine. (All four of them!)

Re: SloMotion Build - Winter Project

Just a couple more pics.

A few details, some tweaking here and there, and a summer of cruising! I'm going to put a chicken crate in the back and a bale of hay for the car shows. Thinking about a remote speaker and a couple of real-looking chickens just to harrass the kids at the shows.

Re: SloMotion Build - Winter Project

Hey Slomo,

Great looking truck! Would love to see it in person. Where in Maine are you? Close enough to Oxford Plains Dragway?

Anyway, VIP Auto is having their annual Show, Shine and Drag show on 6/24at the dragway. I am planning on going and would love to see your dually in person if you are close enough.

Mark

Re: SloMotion Build - Winter Project

xmitsu10, I'm thinking seriously of going, but it depends on weather and wind. I know that sounds crazy, but if it's windy that place is just a dust bowl of granite dust. I hope it works out, there's usually some pretty nice rides up there!
