...just another new guy

Hey all! I've been checking this site for a couple of months now and have finally joined so I wanted to introduce myself. I'm currently slowly working on a 68 short step side I picked up here in FL. I paid way more money for it than it was worth, but I was impatient and wanted it that bad. So far I have lowered the rear 7" and the front 3" with plans of a disc brake conversion. Here's some pics before it was lowered...hope I did it right.

Another welcome from Maryland and a suggestion to change your name. That`s not a p.o.s.,it`s a driver. You gotta love your truck, man. So it was a sour deal. That`s not the truck`s fault.

Re: ...just another new guy

Thanks for the awesome welcome everyone! Those pics do make the truck look pretty good. It has its rust issues though...rotted upper windshield channel, pretty much need a new bed, and the floor boards need some help. The previous owner lowered it by melting the springs. After I re-lowered it with the proper stuff, the drivers side rear sits lower than the passenger side. I'm hopin' it's just the bed and not a bent frame. I'll take some current pics and post 'em.

By the way, that valve on the heater core was to keep it from spewing, I learned that hard way and have since disconnected it and plugged the water pump.

Re: ...just another new guy

Are the trailing arms rusted? How bad? Also, inspect the frame over the axle where the coils mount. They can get thin and kink right there.
