New 6 3/4 Balancer

I originally bought a 8 inch but in the mock up the balancer looked like it would hit the power steering brackets once installed onto the crank. I went and got a 6 3/4 one like the one before and then I noticed something.

On the old one the keyway slot is lined up at about 2 degrees. On the new one its lined up with 10 degrees. Do I need to worry about this? Why the difference?

The smaller 1 were used on 327 and 283 ,the bigger 1's were for the 350' you could get a different timming pointer and go from there.

Re: New 6 3/4 Balancer

The engine is a 350 and it came with a 6 3/4. Just strange to me that the key way slot is not in the same place.

Re: New 6 3/4 Balancer

most likely the old balancer has slipped inside the rubber elastomer. is the rubber cracked up bad between the 2 halfs.

Yep think you are right. I mocked up the new one and it looks good.

Thanks
