Right side won't bleed
71 C-10 front disc breaks
This project started out with changing the Master Cylinder. When I got to the front to bleed, the bleeders wouldn't break loose, so I ended up doing rotors, calipers and breaks. When I was done with the front breaks I reblead the MC front and then went to the bleeder on the caliper. For some reason I can't get the right front to bleed. The left front will bleed fine. Nothing on the right. I took the bleeder off and still nothing. Tried loosening the hose and nothing. The right side brake hose is pretty tight. The only way to get it on is to take off the caliper and bring it closer. I wonder why I can't get any break fluid through the right side?

Re: Right side won't bleed
Loosen the hose from the steel line connection at the frame- if you can get fluid flow there but not thru the hose- the hose is collapsed.

Re: Right side won't bleed
I was afraid of that. The steel line at the frame is rusted/welded together. I considered changing the short brake hoses on each side, but they look rusted together. Has anyone ever used heat to get it apart? I didn't really want to tackle changing all the front break lines.

Re: Right side won't bleed
The front brake lines screw together thru the frame. There is a clip that holds the bulkhead fitting to the frame.Remove the clip and you should be able to break the line fairly easily.Use a line wrench or flare nut wrench and a box-it will slip over the hose since the other end is off.Mine are drums but older and they broke loose fairly easy.(I did it on the side of the road in Atlanta traffic).
