New to the site, pics of my 84 GMC Truck

Bought this truck from a friend of mine, he built it with his dad out of their farm truck in 1990. This truck has a lot of stuff done to it. Full frame off build; frame painted silver after back halfed, tubed and narrowed. ZZ1 or ZZZ crate engine with TPI/EFI and a built TH400 only 4000 miles on the truck since the build. MSD ignition. Old school Alpine cd & EQ and rockford fosgate amps, speakers and subs. Everything is shaved but the door handles. I've been updating the truck and fixing all the little things that need it. First major project for me was replacing the EFI harness and computer, that got me started cleaning up all the wires in the engine compartment and hidding them. Just installed new floor carpet and a headliner from LMC. I love this truck and I thought about it often over the past 15 years, I couldn't believe it was sitting in a barn 20 miles south of my new house so when I heard it still existed I had to buy it.

Welcome from Texas ! From what I can see , the door panels look like some of the best custom door panels I have seen . Please post pics of them when you get a chance . Nice truck . Frank

A great looking tuck you have there. I lke it. I really like the rear tubs, my next project . Can you elaborate on the rear set-up. How much was cut off the axel? Tire size. Some pics would be great.

Welcome from New Orleans.

Re: New to the site, pics of my 84 GMC Truck

I will have to try to take some rear-end pics, to show the work done there. The back tires are 29X18.50-15LT Mickey Thompson bias plys. I'm really looking forward to putting the new Mickey Sportsman S/R radial on here but I have no budget for rims yet.

This TPI setup is from http://www.firstfuelinjection.com/ My system was purchased back in '90-91 and I just upgraded it with their help. Ken at FIRST is great to work with and he got me everything I needed. My truck is in the gallery on his site.

The center console, door panels, amp rack, subwoofer enclosure and dash wrap were done by Competition Engineering here in AZ. But I think they are long out of business. Everything was handmade and vinyl wrapped. This is one LOUD 15 year old stereo system, with 2 tweeters, 2 mids, 4 mid bass and 2-12" Rockford subs.

Re: New to the site, pics of my 84 GMC Truck

Nice find! Looks like alot of time and money was invested, and cleaning it up and making it yours is is all you have to worry about. I like much of what has been doen to this truck especially the interior.... I do not have the balls to do it to my mostly stock looking 84 Silverado Stepper.....Past dropping it a little bit..... Its just so orginal with the rallys.... Its a stock kind of cool truck..... But I love that pro street look and the money that went into yours!

Absolutely gorgeous. Only thing that was a little out of place to me was the front bumper. But the rest is absolutely stunning.
