what would a new 454 be worth

i got a lead on a suposedly brand new 454 for 600.00. suposedly the lady was asking 4000.00, now just wants it gone for 600.00
like i fell off the turnip truck yesterday..but hey you never know, could be a bad divorce, she also has a 66 buick regal i think it was for 2000.00
i will sell what ever i can get my hands on if she has paper work to prove its a new motor..hmm might actually get a 454 for my 68 after all,,

I would go look because one never knows but use wisdom and not your emotions in evaluating this motor. If it's new how long has she had it? Why does she have it? Where did she get it? Why is she willing to sell it so cheap? Any Warranty with it? etc. In the words of the famous 67-72 Chevy/GMC truck guru...If it looks to good to be true it's likely to good to be true. Good Luck

Re: what would a new 454 be worth

its through a site here in utah where you can either give stuff away or sell it,,it is probably about 30 to 50 miles from my house..im the worst when i look at a truck or car and somebody says it has a new engine,,i make people mad because i then ask,,you got the paper work on it,,if they say they rebuilt it, you got the reciept for the parts,,if no to either, then i figure its a junkyard engine..but will go look at it just because maybe for once i cane find that 66 corvette for 50.00 type of deal..lol......i wouldnt mind haveing the buick she has, but im trying to get a camper that is begger than the ones i already have, or travel trailer....
