Widening rally wheels?
Anyone widened steel rally wheels? I bought a set off a '98 3/4 ton (8 bolt) and would like to widen them to 10" for use with 33/12.50/16's on my '72. Of course, I don't want to spend a fortune but want them done "right" on a lathe I would presume. Do you suppose a metal shop could handle it, or do I need to find a true wheel doc?

Re: Widening rally wheels?
I found these at a local swap meet. I have not had them balanced, but the welds looked good and the price was right.

Re: Widening rally wheels?
Call up Stockton wheel in stockton california. I called and talked with Frank today about some new rims for my car trailer. I want a set(4) of 15x5 to match the stock truck rims I am going to run on "Low Buck" and he gave me a price of $420 for the set of 4. That is in raw steel and I will swing by to pick them up. I am going with the 59 Series - GM 'C' Rally

Re: Widening rally wheels?
I had my 90's steel wheels widened to 8,5 and 9,5 at a shop over here in Sweden. IIRC it was in the $100-120 range a piece for the job.

Re: Widening rally wheels?
Save the additional cost of shipping heavy wheels and find a local shop to alter them. It`s a common procedure.Dirt track cars have "built" wheel all the time. There are places all around my area that do it.I had custom made 10" wagon wheels made for my dad`s`62 Land Rover and it wasn`t that much $.

Re: Widening rally wheels?
I had mine done... added 3 inches. Local machine shop did them and found a really good welder to finish them (relative). Only drawback is NHRA won allow them on the track.
