door trim hole removal question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I picked up a pretty clean and straight door off of a parts truck today...my question is, I have no trim on the rest of the truck, so is there a way of closing up the trim holes so it will match the rest of the truck...thanks...Ken

Mig welding would be the best repair. Use a piece of copper on the back side of the hole to fill it in, even a penny works. If you don't have a welder or know somebody that does, you could get a local muffler shop to do it. After they are welded up grind them flush and use a small amount of bondo to slick it up.

And for gosh sakes, don't hold the penny in place with your finger or you will look like this >
