Hi there Sacramento Joe,

A roll pan is the metal strip which is about 4' X the width of the truck above the exhaust tips. It fills the space that is created by not using a bumper.

I very rarely see satin paint jobs that I like, but this one is nice.

PS - nice "radio delete option" you got there

Re: Here's Mine .... 70' Fleetside.

[QUOTE=72BigBlockSuprCustom;2089816]i love the color. i was thinking of painting my truck flat black as well, or would your color be considered satin black?

do you get any trouble for not having any side mirrors, or have you yet to install them?[/QUOT

**********************************************************

Hi there 72Big,

Mirrors are not a problem ..... This truck is older then most the cops in the town that I live in so you just simply say that it was an option in 70.' The law here states that you can not be made to change a vehicel from original. This includes being forced to even put seat belts in if it never came with them. The cops like kool trucks and I could be a father to some so they tend to leave the old guy's alone.

This is a satin finish and I posted info. on the paint under body and paint which will give you a bit better idea of what I used for a product.

I hear ya on the bed budget,I'm there right now as well and putting in a wood floor is NOT cheap!
**********************************************************

Rollie,

Funny you thought of that as I call the truck "Prime Time" and I"m still toying with the idea of writing that in there some how. That my good man is what I'm going to do as you have helped me make up my mind.

Your pics are a lot like my truck was. I had less rust except for the obvious spots but I had a way more dents and creases then you have. Also 6X9 speaker holes on the inside bottom doors had to be filled.

Bed wood = $$$$. That is the bottom line. With exchange and tax's $1000.00 CND and no s/s strips either, just plain old steele ones painted same as the truck. This is a poor boy truck = no glitter.

I'll try the PM out and keep you posted on the progress of the bed and dash.

Chow for now,

esll.

Hello Ratchet255,

Too low. My headers are scraping a bit so I'm raising it 1 to 1.5 inches in the front. No one will notice but right now I'm below the scrub line.

Re: Here's Mine .... 70' Fleetside.

Nice look, I got a 70 long, looking to do the satin but with the original color and white cap...not sure how it will come out, but then the body work hopefully does not need to be perfect. Any feedback on colored satin paint jobs would be appreciated.

Very cool truck. Cleanly done and nice design on the color scheme. I don't care for the wheels but I do like the size and tires and they work. Good job.

Thinking of changing to P305/60R X 15 for the Rear. Undecided as to what to do .... What do you think???
I personally think a little taller tire would look nice if you're planning on raising it 1.5" in the front.

Here's mine if you hadn't seen it already. This was 3/4 springs with 235, 255/60's.

My goal is to have my truck looking like yours!! someday hopefully.....

Hello there Nevada,

I've seen trucks with the 2 tone look. White caps look kool. Satin does not show imperfections as much as a high gloss finish does. I wrote an article in the Body & Paint forum as to what I used.

Hi Blue,

Be patient as you have your plate full, Ive been there and I got mine and you will to. My daughter Heidi is 24 and she was over visiting the other day and she needed back tires for her Sunfire so we all made a day of it and went to the wreckers. Found a nice set of tires, afterwards we went home and had a good family dinner. A perfect day for a car guy.

I used "SEM Trim" paint. Wash with Zip car wash, towel dry and forget about it. Good top coat, durable and easy to touch up.
