Recieved this in a recent transaction, But already have a 700R4/NP205 that I'm going to use. So this one's up for sale. PO said that the trany has been gone through, ( I don't know exactly what that means, and have no proof other than these pictures ) From what I see someone has obviously done some work on it. Everything is clean and painted. Inside was also clean other than some paint over spray and the fluide that leaked when I removed the converter was clean. So I have no reason to doubt what I was told.
$500 + shipping ( Would rather not ship for obvious reasons )

Oh yes, this was a rolling chassis, projeect that was never completed, so what ever was done to it the has 0 miles since.

to bad it has a 2 wheel drive tranny, but the price is still good. To bad you are not closer

Generally, it's the amount of bolt holes that hold the torque converter inspection cover. A "K-case" uses 6 bolts and is generally considered the heavy duty case and uses a cast aluminum cover with struts that go to the engine mounts... A "2wd" case uses 4 sheet metal screws to hold the sheet metal cover on.

I've seen a fair mix of everything, so I can't really conclusively say which is which/

This one certainly looks 4wd to me, as it has a 205 on the back end of it and it's certainly a sweet deal.

Maybe a pickup is different than a Blazer/Jimmy? My '70 Jimmy has 4 bolts holdin on the plastic cover and is absolutely original, and no bracing. 4x4 Blazer and Jimmys were still considered "K" series.

Actually they called the K case such because it has a K cast on it.

I think it's actually more of a weight rating. The Th350 and 205 combo I have from a 71 Blazer is the same, 4 sheet metal screws and a sheet metal cover... The 1 ton 73 I took apart is a "K" case.
