I may be wrong on this, but I think one is a Dana 60 and one is the Corperate rear end. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

So was the "maximum traction" option the detroit locker in the Eaton rear end ? Ive seen a few in junkyards and assumed they were lockers.

Maximum traction was in the Dana diff... The No-Spin is a Detroit locker in a Eation / Corporation diff.

I happen to know where a nice leaf spring eaton rear end is under a 67 C20 with a 6 cylinder and a close ratio M28 4 speed. Its the original rear end and its got the original build tag behind the seat. It says pretty clearly ... "maximum traction" on the build sheet.
Also... The detroit locker unit in my dana 60 is one I pulled out of a rear end that was in a pile so I dont know what it came out of but its got 1962 date stamped all over it and the 4.10 gears that were in the rear end with it. I cant find any reference to Dana 60's being made that far back. Obviously they were. I wonder whats up with that.
