Re: exhaust
I just put a new exhaust on two weeks ago and it ran me $400.00. That's from headers back with two new turbo mufflers and a couple of extra hangers. Probably could have bought the mufflers online cheaper, but shipping may have made the difference. At least that's how I justified it.
Mine is a longbed, fyi.

Re: exhaust
based on my experience, 350-400 is about the norm

Re: exhaust
Wow....those must be very expensive mufflers and pipes. I paid $125 [I supplied the mufflers...another $55] last December.

Re: exhaust
I think in rual areas they are cheaper. I paid $225 with $40ea afterburners a few years back from manifolds to bumpers.
Had my little nissan truck done last week. I supplied the muffler and it was $40 from cat to tail pipe single exhaust. I'm a regular there and pay cash so I think I get cut some slack too.

Re: exhaust
my last truck cost $300, but the mufflers (flowmaster 40's) cost $75 a piece, so i guess that drops the pipe and labor down to around $150 plus tax...

Re: exhaust
Pipe diameter also makes a difference. I went 2 1/4 vs. 2 or 2 1/2. I want to say for my truck there was a $50.00 differential between the sizes. I also added a H-pipe, but that cost was minimal.

Re: exhaust
$400 sounds about right to me for that type of set up. I paid about $650 but that also included a used exhaust manifold because one of my old ones was cracked really bad as well as new gaskets and pulling out a bolt that had broken off.

Re: exhaust
Like chevyholic said, pipe costs range vary depending on diameter and material. A good stick of 3" aluminized 16gauge piping is $100. So for example: a long box with full length dual exhaust dumping out back would use 2 sticks for tail pipes and 2 partials for primaries. Now add the labor, mufflers, hangers, tips, etc.

Re: exhaust
I built my system, while workin part time in the Muffler shop. I figure from the heads to the butt, its a 650-700$ system(payin someone else). the Hooker headers were $155 shipped, 20 on the weld rings, 15 on the alum collecto gaskets. The old boy got me 36 bones for 2 10ft sticks of 14 guage aluminized pipe+ hangers. The 50's flows were a "freebie", off a customers car(100 bones a pop new!). My old truck runs an H pipe(freebie, i did some welding for the old boy). The tail pipes walk up over the axle, around the fuel cell.....& right through the back bumper. My youngest "brat" helped me hang the tail pipes(sweet). The old boy got me 30 bones on 3 sticks of 2 1/2" aluminized pipe......& let me use the rack/bender/welder! The stainless tips were a 40 dollar bill(the same price the boys are payin for chrome ) You can add it all up, & try to figure a mans time......but IMO, if the job is done right.......you are lookin tween 350-550, headers to butt, depending on muffs. L
