4X4 conversion

Hello all!!! I am looking for information. I have the chance to buy a very nice nearly rust free 2 wheel drive Chevy pick-up I believe it to be a 1979. I would like to make it a 4X4 without changing bodies. I know what all I have to do with one exception. What do I need to do too bolt the front axle in. I am told this is a fairly simple conversion. I was thinking I had looked at this conversion on the net somewhere, damned if I can find it now. If you would like, you can contact me directly at jadan@mywdo.com. Thanks in advance for all of your help. Danny in MO

Re: 4X4 conversion

well i know the 2wd frame doesnt sit as high infront as a 4x4. So the 4x4 a little higher to make room for the axel. I was thinking to do the same but it was found that the body swap was much easier.

I was going to do the body swap but after time i just thought it was even more easy to leave the truck 2wd. heres a thread i started here some time ago so you might use it as refrence if you wise. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...17#post2007117
