Door Handle
I need to replace the driver's side exterior door handle. Are the repops good quality? Is there any chance of getting an NOS handle anymore? Would it be worth the $ if I could find one?

Re: Door Handle

I bought a pair of repo's & they fit and looked good. When I bought mine they listed one side available NOS, but I don't remember which one. I just checked the supplier where I purchased my repo's and they don't list the originals any more. Someone may have a few left though..... LockDoc

Re: Door Handle
I put a set of repops on mine, and they fit well, and look great. I figured anything that still had a button in it was better than what I had....

Re: Door Handle
I am not sure if there is more than one brand of repros, but the chrome on the repros is way better than any GM or nos stuff.

Re: Door Handle
the repops are actually better. The factory handles buttons have a tendancy to fall out the back because of the twisted tabs on the backside breaking. The repops ive seen are actually riveted and prevent the button from falling out the back. I dont know if all the repops are like this, but the ones i bought were.

Re: Door Handle
i put repos on mine and they look and work fine. the only problem i have is that the rubber seal is already cracking after three years of being on the truck and not being in the weather.....ever.

Re: Door Handle
I did mount mine from Truckshop yesterday. The chrome looks very nice, only the angle of the holes for the 1/4" bolts were wrong.
I fixed it with 2 m8 nuts cut in half diagonal and use it as a spacer using longer bolts. |

Re: Door Handle
Oh, that could be the difference. I have a '68.
The holes are inline of the door, and should be inline of the knob. Maybe it will fit perfect on a '67. |

Re: Door Handle
The holes in the door handles of the 67's and maybe the 68's were drilled and tapped at an angle, and I belive all repo handles are staight like the 69-72's

Re: Door Handle
GMCPauls has (or had recently) repops by the pair for $50. Bought a set for both trucks. Installed them on the Blazer = better than factory. Very nice heavy pieces with nice chrome.
