Re: 67 > 72 Hoods
67-68 are the same, and 69-72 are the same. I don't know if there is a difference in lenth, but I believe the latch is farther forward on the 67-68 models. They will not interchange without major metal work.

Re: 67 > 72 Hoods
The 67-68 hood is different from the 69-72 hood. The 67-68 hood is longer in the front and is slanted back. The 69-72 hood is more blocky in the front. What year is your truck? I have noticed you have posted the gap problem a number of times and I think you have the 69-72 hood...

Re: 67 > 72 Hoods
Not sure what problem your having or if you are having one but, this is a borrowed pic I have off of this board of two trucks both with the 67/68 front end one on the left has correct hood. The one on the right has 69/72 style if it help to answer your question. Not sure exactly whats involved with doing this mod but IMO I think the correct hoods fit there corresponding grills better than the change overs. BTW yours looks very fine to me also GR8 truck there.

Re: 67 > 72 Hoods
**********************************************************
My truck is a 70' GMC with a 71' Chevy hood. When you are right in front of the grill and look down there is a 3/8s space between the hood and the grill which makes the hood look short. If you move the hood forward you increase the space between the wiper valance and the hood. The gap on the sides and the back I've lined up as perfect as possible and I'm happy with it. I'ts just the front that still has a space between the hood and the grill. Longhorn wrote a response reasoning that the early fenders (67< 68) on GMC trucks were fitted from 69 > 72 with a shorter hood and that this is factory. I've seen this on original non restored GMC trucks as well and therefor accept his comments. A top filler bar is screwed to thr top of the grill which fills the space between the grill and rad support, but the hood is shorter then the fenders. I thought perhaps this was because of the Chevy hood that I used. esll.
