Re: camel humps

"492" – 3991492. They were found on 1970 to??? LT-1 engines. They had 2.02/1.60" or 1.94/1.50 valves, 64CC combustion chambers, DO have accessory holes, intake port volume should be 161CC's, exhaust port volume should be 62CC's. These heads have double hump casting marks. This particular casting head was also available as an "over the counter" head from GM in straight or angle plug configurations.

IMO they are still good heads but there's always a but. They (most) of the time require modifacations that meke the a second choice unless trying to stay original. GOOD IDEA sellem' they can bring good money for some one that is looking for the older heads to make something original. Then buy new castings or after market heads wiyh the money. Head technology has come along way over the years.

I'm not saying this to say they are bad just my honest opinion. I have a set that have been heavily modified and have way more than I should in them. !1800.00$ plus+. This was a racing application head where the rules stated: Factory casting only No Vortec. They perform GR8 but money could have been better spent if rules allowed IMO. Would I ever do this on a non race application or where rules are different-NO NEVER Better can be had for less money. Hope this helps RJ22
