based on the wheels/tires you have, how well do you think the following will fit?

Front
20x8.5 wheels with 5.4bs
265/50VR20

Back
20x8.5 wheels with 5.4bs
305/50VR20

i am running RE7 bags on all 4 corners, 2.5" blocks in the back, and 2.5" drop spindles up front. I want to keep my inners and bed wells if possible.

Danny, how come you decided to go with the bigger wheels on the front? Didn't like the rake or what?

He is running the bigger tire in the back. Front and backs are 20" fronts are 255/40, backs are 295/40

305s are way too big for that wheel and will be a TIGHT fit. I would do a 295 at most and make sure your backspacing is spot-on. You will need a spacer in the back. 255 is perfect on a 8.5 wheel in the front. You may be able to get away with the 50-series sidewall with the little amount of drop you're running, but your truck will be sitting like a 3/4 ton...

iveldesigns,i am not sure on tire/wheel size i am no expert i copied off Keith (in2billet) i am sure someone on the board knows more about this than me.surely someone on this board can answer your question. Danny

yeah, after posting my question, i started to realize 305's are to big for that wheel. why will i need a spacer in the back? also, i agree, the 50 series tires is probably to tall. i just don't want to be worried about hitting a bump to hard and bending a wheel.

oh, and since when is a bagged truck with 2.5" lowering blocks and 2.5" drop spindles considered "little amount of drop" ?

You'd need a spacer for the rears because that much BS would put the tire way into the rear wheel tub. Max would be closer to 4.5 BS (w/a long track bar to better control side to side shift).

If your worried about bending a wheel, the magic number is 4" sidewall height. Look over most of OEM's tire sizing & most of the 'sporty' type cars come w/245-45-17's or 275-40-17's (common Mustang/Camaro sizes). Each of those are roughly 4.25" sidewall height. Try & stick to this as your minimum & you'll be ok (I've been driving around on 245/45-18's & 295/40-20's for 4yrs now, daily commuting w/no bent rims).

What brand of tire are you running? Are you running 10's and 8's for your rim width?

awesome. thanks for the info.

already have the new adjustable panhard bar, but it sounds like i'll need some spacers and lugs when i order the wheels then.

You're gonna want between 1" and 1.5" spacer on the rear. Measure to optimize accordingly. Try ezaccessory on eBay.

I've got 255/45-20 and 295/45-20 on 8" and 10" wheels on my '72 Blazer(bags,spindles,blocks) and this is the max height I would go. Matter of fact, next time, I'll probably do 40 series sidewalls.

On my '70 pickup I'm running 8.5x20 5.4BS all around. 1" spacer in the rear w/ a '71-72 axle(wider than '70) I'm leaning towards a 255/40 and a 275/45...
