69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
Well it always happens to me this way When I have extra cash there are never any reasonable deals on these trucks around, Then when I don't have money they fall in my lap!
So here is the deal not but a few weeks after finding my next project, '72 custom camper, big block, a/c, tilt, auto. all there unmolested for $1000 ( sorry no pics yet) My friend calls me and says his brother has a truck I Might want to look at. So me Knowing I cant buy it , I still had to got look at it. heres what I found. 69 1/2 4x4 350 Man. pretty rough body but good running and mostly only surface rust. Well honestly I have never bought or owned a 67-72 4X4 so value wise I don't know what is a good deal for this truck. or whats reasonable for that matter. he said I have first dibs and I could have it for $800 Well it sounds good but I would like to know what you guys thought. thanks for any or all input |

Not a bad deal for $800 for a fun mud truck or something. That would be a pain to restore with all of those damaged panels. Looks like only the DS fender and the hood have escaped without damage
If I had the room, I'd offer $500 and be willing to pay the $800.

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
I'd start at $500, and don't think I would break $700. I only paid $1250 for a much better looking 67 4x4.
Now you could buy both trucks, and make a 72 4x4. That would be cool. Sell off the step-child leftovers to cover your payout.

I just wish I could find a decent swb 4x4 anywhere in this area. But yeah, $800 is a good price start low and go up. I'd be more than happy to pay that for one.

800 is a good deal for that but start lower and see how low you can get him

If that pickupis $800 dollars, I over paid for mine. I think it is worth it if it is a running pickup.
I feel your pain about not having money when good projects fall in your lap.

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
Seems like a good enough deal at $800 but do as 67ChevyRedneck said start at $500 and don't be afraid to pay the $800 if you really want it.

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
that is worth all $800 and then some. there is more potential in the truck then just making a mud truck out of her body panels are out there and that would be worth a good chunk of change if restored good luck

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
All those dents look repairable to me.The drivetrain alone is worth $1,000 or more without the body. It`s a great deal.If you can nab it under that, all the better.

I agree with Special-K, those dents don't look bad, nothing a hammer & dolly can't fix. I'd much rather repair a dent than fix rust!!!
In S. Fl. that truck not running would bring $1500 easy. Rob |

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
Nothing there a little work can't fix. If you want a short bed, there is one sitting there, just have to do a little cut and splice

Re: 69 4x4 what should I do Hmmmm......
It doesn't look overly rusty, if it's running, I'd say 800 is cheap, at least around here, 800 wouldn't touch it. I paid 1200 for my 72 swb K-10 and was offered 2500 a couple of days later at a gas station....however, it was my only running vehicle at the time and I couldn't part with it. btw, it is every bit as rough as the one you pictured and has more rust, but ran like a top.
