Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

These are for your new 4wd? Just FYI,the 67-68s wont work on a 69-72 without changing the holes
*edit, maybe with a GMC it dont matter if they dont have the lights in the bumper, dont know about that situation

I have a 1971 in good shape. $150 shipped. I'm away from my shop until the 25th though.

Wow, I didn't know that the holes were different.
I thought that the frames were the same.

Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

I'm not 100% positive on this but I'm pretty sure on it...
The 67s and 68s were mounted differently and when you put the 67-68s on a 69-72 they wont work. The hooks hit the bumper(IIRC) because they were designed for their own holes, which were different than the 69-72s.If you drilled different holes the 67-68s would work, but they wont in holes designed for 69-72s

Ok,found some pics.Sorry to hijack your thread man...
First pic is of the holes for the ones for my 71 (69-72 style).
Second is 67-68 hooks in their appropriate spot.
See the difference?

Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

OK, Let me check the one that I have to make sure that it is for a 68. If so then I would take it, that way I can have a pair. That is unless you would like mine.

Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

Just wondering how this turned out. Did the hooks match, or do you have a 69-71 hook? And if yours is a match, but you need the 69-71 i'd be interested in yours. Thanks Jason

Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

What year did you need it for?
If it is still there then I could get it for you.

Re: WTB 1 Tow Hook

I need one to match the 68 hook shown. I'm not sure which hand hook i have though. Is there a left and right hand hook? I'd really appreciate if you would check it out for me. I was going to make a wall orniment for the garage if i didn't find a mate to it. I've had this one for over a year and haven't found one. Thanks again Jason
