A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
Well here it is, a dream that started almost 10 years ago as I under stand it. I just finished my (LFD Inc.) part of building this truck (metal fabrication, shaving, body work and paint) and I am very proud of my work. But this thread is al for the owner who designed it and carried it thru. When I first went to look at the truck and he told me he wanted shaved drip rails, welded up ream roof seam and then to top it off Bright A$$ Yellow I almost turned it down. I do not like shaved drip rails, welded rear roof seams or yellow but that was my opinion and the owner was set on what he wanted and I was convinced that he had thought this thru very well so I took on the job. Almost one year later (working part time on it) it has trans formed from a oh my god what is that to an OH MY GOD look at that! It has also changed my thoughts on all the above that I was not into at the start of this build and now I can not get over how well this cab flows from one end to the other, top to bottom! It was a great idea that was over due in the making.
So with that being said this thread is not to show my work or to have any one tell me how I did, it is to let the owner know what you think of his ideas and deturmination to see a project thru... Julius~ Job well done! Kevin LFD Inc. Last edited by Rokcrln; 05-13-2007 at 12:32 AM. |

Re: A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
Keep in mind it still needs to be cut and polished but that will happen down the road because the owner is moving in 3 weeks and my wife is having our first child in about 6 weeks so things will get very buisy real quick.

Re: A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
I have to say that the design and ideas were just wishful thoughts that I expressed to Kevin. He had many creative ideas that mutated the project to its present condition. As you all have seen it has been his dedication, skill and integrity that has brought this project to this point. It shows in the quality of work that he does. I owe him alot more than thanks.
I was just thinking about something. I have put a lot of miles on this truck without even driving it. I bought it in Stockton Ca, took it to Sacramento Ca, moved to Antioch, it went to Winters Ca and will soon find a new home in Marin County Ca. I think the only things that are still on the truck from when I bought it are the cab, front wheels and tires and the tailgate. There are a few picture of what I started with when I bought the truck in 2000.

Re: A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
very nice... did it stay tubbed? what's the specs for the rest of the build?
The subtle differences take awhile to notice (i.e cowl, drip rail, vintage air, and a ton more I bet.) Thats makes a nice show truck unique and "one-off" IMHO. It's easy to spot an engine sticking 2 feet outta the hood but those "hidden" changes are impressive....

Re: A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
I agree with msgross, the subtle mods that enhance the looks in little ways but are all but undetectable are the ones that make the difference. If someone who is into trucks see's it and doesn't notice it but it makes it flow better then the mod is perfect.I really like the way that looks and the way the A/C,heater lines are run looks like all the plumbing and wiring will be hidden.Should make the outstanding job LFD even more impressive.

Re: A MUST SEE Lemon Drop as one for the first time!
WOW I have been following the build thread in hopes of seeing it at this point. That is a great looking truck and proud owner. I hope my big banana turns out even half that good.
