Short Fleet + Spare Tire + Hidden Hitch...Didn't think it was possible?

Hey guys, I recently did the above with my 64'. I've seen questions asked like this on here before, so even though my truck isn't a 67-72, the frame's the same and this should apply. I did a write up about it over here on this forum, didn't feel like redoing it over here, check it if interested...

If only I could find an 8 lug spare that works for my 35's

That's a slick setup.

good idea..and here i thought i was the only one who would use wood on there trucks...lol...if in the future you get some extra money go to a welding shop and see if you can get some angle iron cut to length or some channel, and use that..make sure you dont over tighten the bolts or they could suck through the wood...but hey i would do it your way in a heart beat..great inginuity, and cost efective to..i give ya 2 thumbs upp... shoot i have used 3/4 inch treated plywood for floor boards before..use what you got i always say..

On a different note..or maybe a new thread. Anyone ever take LB Fleetside and use one of the stepside kits that are available now?
I am thinking about doing it and want to know what kind of head aches I am looking forward to. and btw..wooden floor too.

Re: Short Fleet + Spare Tire + Hidden Hitch...Didn't think it was possible?

yeah i'll try to do that...

Driver177, I'm not sure how that would work...can't say. I have seen some guys get an extra wheel tub, mount it upside down inside their bed (thru the floor) so then there spare is recessed and has a place to "sit in" if that makes sense...maybe not what you're looking for?
