Pulley problem?
I cured the high pitched squeal when I changed the belt, but I still get a lot of noise under acceleration from the belt. Tried belt dressing and that made it worse. Anyone been through this and found out the pulley was the culprit? If so which one? I suspect the alternator pulley, but am not sure.
I checked and both are quite shiny....it's drivin' me nuts!!

You might try to rough up the shiny areas on the pulleys with some emery. Gives the belt something to grab onto. Another possibility is bearing noise. Good luck...

agree glazed pulleys after all these years very common also make sure you have the right width belt for the pulley should not ride below or too far above the top edge.

i agree with the above post. remove the pulleys sandblast them give them some new paint. problem solved and kool looking pulleys on top of that
