Does this headache rack look okay?

I hope it doesn't, cuz I don't think Go Industries will take it back. Please, be honest:

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

No offense, but I don't like it. The lines of the rack do not match the lines of the cab, and it sits just a little too high too.

Beautiful truck however, I like it a lot!

It doesn't bad if you want/need a headache rack. It does sit rather tall. Is there any way to bring it down some?

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

i think it is good..at first look i thought it was to tall, but this way you can throw a ladder or some 2x's over it and not worry about your paint...same thign on it with it being to wide, just extra protection if you actually use your truck as a truck..it you dont use your truck as a truck,,throw it away..

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

Nice looking truck, like that front winch set up, but have to agree with big block. too industrial looking, or maybe if it was black to match your rear bumper and bed. Hey it's your truck and if it's what you want go for it

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

Not to keen of it myself but it's your truck, if you like - hey go for it!!! It's kinda like white letters out or in, there was a long thread on this a few months back, but thats what keeps this board so interesting is the diversity in likes and dislikes. My son and I go at it all the time, I really don't like the teardrop tailights he put in, he does't like my stock look so much, but I help him with his truck and he helps me with mine, and we both smile at the end of the day when we see what we accomplished - tear drops and all -ugh!!!

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

Have someone photoshop it black to match the bumpers and see what it looks like then. If the bumpers were chrome it would look better imo.

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

i think it looks allright it seems to look like its missing the bent tubes behind it to make more of a roll bar look but to me its fine i agree that maybe black would have been more suited to your truck with the bumpers but in all honesty id just let it be

I would seriously consider the rail tubes to complete the look, but I haven't found anyone who sells them.

Having the tubes might help balance the proportions.

Don't worry.... I sincerely appreciate both positive and negative comments.

If there is one truth in life it is that you cannot make everyone happy. My truck is not necessarily for others' enjoyment - although, I do hope others enjoy looking at it.

My point for this thread was to gauge reaction to my new mod. It is also to gather opinions from this sea of knowledgable folks, because quite frankly, I did not immediately like it 100%. The negative reactions/criticisms are helping me to realize what I can do to make the look what I envisioned.

Keep 'em coming - good or bad.

Thanks!

Sounds like a great idea. Only thing is - the rack is polished stainless. Won't the two materials weather differently?

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

next suggestion to get the stainless steel is to try a truck chroms shop im sure some of that is stainless steel or maybe they can make it up for you. if you watch CMT they have that chrome shop mafia place (trick my Truck show) i believe is in texas and they seem to deal in all that kind of thing although stainless may be a bit pricey tho maybe look in your yellowpages or on the net for custom metal work.. another idea is here there are alot of new shops popping up where Oriental owned and operated shops are using stainless steel to make all kinds of gates and window guards and all if they have that kind of thing there, maybe they could do tubing for you?? also maybe search the net for custom stainless steel tube bending

Re: Does this headache rack look okay?

I know you've heard this before, but please, PLEASE put a coat of gloss or semi-gloss paint on the front bumper!!! Your truck just looks way too nice to have that bumper look all worn out.
If you were closer I'd do it myself...

I really want to have this done, but I also want a few bars fabbed up to act as a brush guard of sorts.

Know anyone near me?
