WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

**If this isn't the correct place for this, please move to right spot**

After doing a little research, I found out I have a 72 Highlander as a parts truck. It is orange and white with the following options listed on the glove box sticker:

VIN-CCE142F376290
Model-CE10934
Body side molding
door edge guards
below eyeline mirro
heavy rear spring
350 CID v-8 engine
comfortitlt steering
deluxe wheel covers
am push button radio
special promotional
custom deluxe equip
custom trim combina
tinted glass
belt molding
4 season air condit
front and rear shoc
hydraulic brake boo
turbo hydra-matic*
power steering
H78-15-B highway bb
chrome front bumper
gages-ammeter, oil,
white/orange/white/

Engine is long gone, not sure on condition of tranny, plaid seat is gone, has a black seat now, tilt column still in, tailgate is junk, needs rockers/cab corners, usual rust in common places, NO TITLE.

Is this worth anything since it has the highlander option?? or just another parts truck

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

Tough to say what to do, one of the neat things about the Highlanders is the silly plaid seat. It doesn't look to be in that bad of shape. Is there a hood or grille shell?

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

I'd say part it. You can't register a vehicle without a title here in PA and without the engine, brackets and correct seat plus the rust work, I'd say part it. Good luck with whatever you decide. Is a neat, rare truck.

Parts. Looks to have all 4 of the original highlander-only wheel covers. Not many of those have survived 30+ years

Yes that's one of the 4 plaid's offered (Gray, blue, avocado and orange). Orance would be 100% correct for the exterior color, but as with mix and match options available in the day, gray could have and probably was offered with the orange exterior.

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

Was there a certain option code listed on the glove box for the highlander?
Mine has correct options and the plaid seat under the recover. It Could be a Highlander and I'd like to know.

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

i've seen them say highlander, i've seen them say special promotional, but they are custom deluxes. mine is the white/orange/white as well and has the orange plaid. although i am a huge highlander fan, i'd say that is probably a parts truck.

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

That and all highlander pick ups must be:

1972 models
Custome Deluxe Trim level
White interior vinyl/plastic (exc dashpad)
Black Carpet
and depending upon option level, the prerequisite options will be listed on the SPID in addition to the "special Promo" option.

Re: WIW: 72 Highlander Parts Truck

Eveyone-thanks for the great info, I didn't really know much about the Highlander options.

Randy-maybe we can work something out when you bring the 4x4

DennyB-door panels are dirty, but I think they would clean up-also I have someone else inline if I part it.

albert-will let you know if I part it.
