Re: found this short bed today

My reply is regarding the frame pic above. The position of the crossmember is located further up on the shortbed. Can you tell me where the differential would sit on this frame? Do you have some more pic's? Different angle maybe.

Jeremy - I don't think anyone want's to rip on you. I'm pretty sure everyone was wanting to make sure you got what you paid for if you bought it. It's all good, you definitely made everyone look twice, .

Would sure be sweet to have a matching bed for a trailer, painted the same way... would probably get lots of shocked looks when the truck bed just kept coming, and coming....
Sure you made someone's day with the good catch

I always thought the same thing. Build a long-bed trailer & paint it to match your truck. You could store all your on the road necessaties when taking a trip or take twice as much w/you. You could even slip some air-bags in place of the coils to treat the cargo better.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: found this short bed today

Boy....it almost looks, from the other angle, like a shortbed on a longbed frame!!!!! People have done stranger things. Just look that the Mexi-C-10 we were ripping on in that other link. If so, that bed is worth some cash.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I actually BOUGHT one (a 60-66 fleet/trailer) and dragged it home thinking it was a shorty. It wasn't until I pulled the camper shell off that I realized it was long. The shell and no cab in front of it does throw you off...
