Where to Paint my truck?? freelance or franchised...

I am about to paint my truck and i was wondering where and what kind of paint. Reason why i ask is because i have had several references for people who do freelance work and some who own their own small paint shop. I have had a bad experience with a guy who repaired my cab who was a freelance worker not because of quality but because of time. It took him over a year but he had originally said 2 months. But the cab turned out good so i was pleased in the end. Now i want to paint and i was wondering if i should go with the franchise places or are they no good? for example Maaco is appealing (i know some people may think i am crazy) but there are some others in the Houston that are similar. I am not using any crazy color either it is just going to be black. Thanks for the input.

say no to the maaco

if you just want it nothing special black you can rattle can it yourself or if you feel up to it get a semi cheap spray gun and do it your self that way but if you dont want to do it yourself and send it to a shop then find a good shop with a good reputation, get the time line and say with them to stick to it, but make sure you do your shoping around before you decide and look at previouse work from them

I used a great painter for our Bel Air, but unfortunately he works for a lowsey shop that takes longer than they say for paintwork/bodywork. PM me and I will give you his phone number. Maybe he can find a place ( or if you have someplace) that he can paint it for you. He does top notch work!
