Hey guys,
Figured I'd wander over to the 67-72 board and get yall's opinions.

I recently purchased a MC/Booster combo off a 86-ish 1/2 ton from pull-a-part. I've ran into a problem putting it in my truck though(I know, its not a 67-72, but its the same pedal setup).

The pushrod is about an inch too short. I've searched through the threads and saw where others just used coupler nuts.
The thing is, my pushrod is non-adjustable.

Its just one long rod.

So what do I do? No access to a welder either.

The 67-72 rod is made up of two pieces and is approximately 9" long. How long do you need the rod to be?

The one pictured looks just like the one I just put on mine and it's off an 83, but it also is adjustable. The only other way I know of to lengthen it is to cut it and weld a spacer in.

A tap and die set or even one die with a handle would be a lot cheaper than a welder. I think Sears has these individually. You could cut it and thread the ends about 1". Buy a 2" coupler and get 2 jam nuts from TSC, Lowes, HD, etc. That should get you 0"-1.5" adjustment. I haven't done this but there may be an issue with the angle this rod goes through the firewall. You would want to make sure the collar doesn't catch on anything when the pedal is depressed.
Anyone else know if he should redrill the hole to attach the rod or how close to the pedal arm to put the collar?

Man is there a high school or junior college near you with a shop or welding class? I bet you could talk someone into welding that for you for free.
