C40 Cab Interchange??
I did a search but, I did not come up with what I was looking for.
I could have swore that I read some where that you could use a C40 or up cab on a C10 thru C30 truck. Maybe I'm crazy. Is this true. I found a couple C40 flat bed trucks that I am thinking of getting either way but, I want to be sure. The reason I am asking is the foot well area is different. From what I can see. There is a hump there for tire clearence issues. What would be involved in this if it is possible?? Any insight on the subject would be appritiated. RJ22... |

Re: C40 Cab Interchange??
No,sorry,no can do.The whole clip mounts up differently and the floor is different. Most differences are up front. Those trucks have completely different frame dimensions, too.

Re: C40 Cab Interchange??
Just about the only good thing to swap would be doors but even then you have to modify the lower front half...As Tim said, the floor is different too,I believe the floor hump is lower than a high hump but taller than a low hump would be on the 10-30 series...if you understand the humps...

Re: C40 Cab Interchange??
Most of these trucks are very clean from being so high up all those years. I wonder if you could buy a complete low hump repop floor and weld it in if that would work? Might be something to think about?

Re: C40 Cab Interchange??
Thanks Guys, I have no idea where I thought I heard that from
It might have been the door interchange that Dustin mentioned. I'm going to save them from the crusher anyway can't beat the deal that I'm getting on them. not all the details are worked out but, I'm willing to bet that free will be close to the final outcome They both have 292's in them and I love the engine, someday MAYBE there will be a hualer for the swb but that is a big MAYBE. Money will have alot to do with that but, since there is two of them I may not need alot. BTW The whole floor interchane is something that I will look into for someone elses benifit when I have them in a place that I can really go over well under them but, I don't think I will go that far. Re: C40 Cab Interchange??
Yeah,I`m all happy about my C/30 wrecker and all. But,I can`t be seen towing my trucks aroung with one that`s no bigger, now can I?I`d like to do the same.Of course, finding a medium duty wrecker would suit me just fine.Go for it Jason!
