Air guage

On my truck there is a guage that has air pressure on it. What is this and could have standard on a 70 swb custom.

Re: lAir guage

its probally a vaccumme gauge and they were original equipment on big trucks that had airbrakes not available on 1/2 or 3/4ton trucks

Re: lAir guage

actually, the trucks with air brakes had an air guage (pressure) trucks that had normal hyd brakes could get a vac guage.
Either way, it is off a bigger truck, C/40 and up.
If you have a hyd brake problem, or when you crank the engine, there should be a light that come on in the fuel guage that should say brake... if your fuel guage is actually from the bigger truck, it'll say overspeed.
Your oil guage, if from the bigger truck, would be an 80 PSI unit instead of a 60 PSI unit.

Re: Air guage

Not sure what gauge you are talking about, but if it’s aftermarket it could be a load helping air bag or air shock thing.
