Re: New truck and new to the board!

That's a good looking truck! I'm a fan of the sixes too, I am putting a new one in my truck today actually. It's something different when you open the hood. Welcome from Dallas!

"Do they make the grille for this truck after market or is it something that I am going to have to find some wheres else? later jared"

from what i've seen you can pretty much order the entire truck in pieces by mail. no problem finding grills.

Re: New truck and new to the board!

Looks like it is pretty solid. I have been driving a 250 6 truck as my daily driver for a few months now and I have to say I am pretty impressed with it.

I have gotten as good as 17 MPG driving it every day if I'm easy on the throttle. I might try to put a 5 speed in it this winter to see if I can improve the mileage a bit.

Re: New truck and new to the board!

Welcome to the forum from way out West! I too wish my '67 looked as good as that when I bought it. Hell, I wish my '67 looked that good now. As far as grilles go- I've heard rumours that Tri-Pro is going to repop them, but for now our only option is to find a salvage unit. The bright work is readily available though. I'd also keep the I6- bore it, stroke it, cam it, carb it and twice pipe it and fool the bejezzus out of a bunch of ricers! Have fun with your new ride!

Re: New truck and new to the board!

thanks, what stinks is the grille on the truck is in good shape as far as having no rust on it, it is just dented in and the drive side fender as well, also what would be a good source to find some hi-po parts for the I6? thanks jared
